BIOGRAPHY

Takako Ihoda

Born in Sumida-ku, Tokyo. Studied painting.
Participated in the Toru Iwashita Dance Workshop in '94.
Engaged in improvisational dance, exploring the body as a device.
Started a performance series “Ta chi ta sa_” in '95. The performance begins from the position lying on the ground on the back, leaving the body to the mercy of gravity, then gradually rises the body paying attention to minor movements in rising, sometimes stops and goes back, to a standing posture finally. This procedure takes about sixty minutes. Performed in various environments since then. Report display, Installation, Collaboration, Art event participation.
